After a night of constant heavy truck traffic rumble I awoke to a struggeling heater fan moaning for more DC power from exhausted batteries. At 7500' and no cloud cover the land of sage cooled aggressively and more then hinted at ,"...let me catch you here in December !".
Was able to effect a rapid departure because the trailer remained attached to truck, so after the rest stop bathroom usage we squinted from the low angled naked sun and warmed up with the vehicle heater as we headed east.Prong horn antelope, south of the highway.
Downtown Cheyenne Wyoming in the far south eastern section of the state.
The end of the day. Here Jeannie is posing at the Cabela RV park in Sidney Nebraska.
Below she is strutting her stuff inside the Cabela Mother Store, where the Cabela mushroom originated.
Was able to effect a rapid departure because the trailer remained attached to truck, so after the rest stop bathroom usage we squinted from the low angled naked sun and warmed up with the vehicle heater as we headed east. Was a land of wide open vistas with an occasional dinosaur laden rock out-cropping that punched up through the kingdom of dusty sage. Very austere abodes, mostly densely packed trailers and no frills, wood and glue housing for the mining and highway maintenance workers. Further east..Wamsutter,Rawlins,Sinclar,Walcott..approaching high altitude 6,000 plus..east.the Medicine bow area, very nice, you gotta see it ! Higher and Higher,7,500 feet,8,000,and all the way to 8,640 ! Eastward to Laramie and then Cheyenne. We altered our plans and decided to avoid Denver so we rolled right through down town Cheyenne, big town for the area but really quite quaint, vibes good for fantasizing relocating someday, maybe...who knows ?. East to Pine Bluffs..real high country but you wouldn't know it without GPS. The Wyoming Nebraska border visual characteristics are: Soft rounded rock out croppings amongst the grassy meadows and diminutive packed villages of pine. Many tributaries to the main highways have gates and warning lights which indicate sever weather and common winter closings...to be sure ,this fact was not lost to me when contemplating our Northwest return in January. East on Nebraska 80 to Kimball and to Sidney to camp.
Sidney area near the Cabela mother store was clean, open and emanated mucho positive vibes...Cabela campground was spotless and well maintained. Shower/Bathroom contained in new brick building, entry code was 413. Maybe 5 other rigs were at the camp....found Cabela WiFi..Highly recommend this RV park.
