Our 1st week of Amazon is completed. Our day started at 6:30am and clock-out at 12 noon.
The days went by lickity-split...so that is good.
Our work centered on a handheld scanner that told us where to go, what to scan and when to stop.
With a picture ID hanging on our necks we would wave it on a time clock scanner....prohibited from clocking in more then 6 minutes early or clocking out more then 5 minutes late. Any infraction is quantized in the form of points, get to many points and you face ultimate doom.
We used yellow totes to put items in. Each tote had bar scan labels, we would scan the tote and then push a cart with the tote to the scanner specified location. We would then scan the designated bin label and then pick the specified item, which was also scanned. You really can't mess up because the scanner must except all data correctly. We would find that some of the items would not scan or we would scan the wrong bin, this awoke the demons in the scanner and loud beepings would result. Items that we picked (some)..Lesbian mags, bronzed dice, George Bush's new book, Cat food, winter coats,jeans,Bras,Cd/ Dvd's,gloves,shirts,.......
Once the tote was full it was sent to a conveyor belt towards being boxed up and sent home to its new owners.
Camping with the Morgans has been great, we partake evening meals together and then collect the required amount of satellite TV consumption.
Above Jeannie is preparing food in our trailer to take next door.
Below you can see the effects of 2 days heavy rain. The Big Chief Rv camp was a hurried affair and water drainage has been a problem, with people hooking up their rigs and changing spots.
The soil here is mostly clay so it presents the obvious problems when wet, however Coffeyville has had a history of using its clay and abundant natural gas for its early renown 10 glass jar factories.
Above pict shot out our back window during the rain.
Above shot out our door of the water pooling around the Morgans sewer line.
The weather has been on the mild side, to the extent that we will have to readjust to the severe climate found back home in the Northwest.
We cannot help to think that our original plans to return in January might be delayed because of the winter weather, we look at the Sandpoint / Boise / Wyoming weather every day, especially the highway weather cams !
Since Amazon is paying for our camp spot and electricity, we purchased a small electric heater and have dedicated our propane for cooking and hot water.
It is as it should be ..camp ethic to pick up after your Dog, we use a bread sack and hand technique to grab the mushy warm bits. Seems dogs are an integral aspect of RVing.
